Who picks this one
The quietest thing in the eleven: pale, matte, almost nothing. Pick it if the other stones feel too decorative, or if you are buying for a parent or an older relative who would not wear anything obvious. It is also the least expensive of the pale stones, which makes it the sensible one to try first if you have never worn a bracelet like this.
What it actually is
Chalcedony is quartz, but cryptocrystalline: the crystals are too small to resolve by eye, which is what gives it that soft waxy look instead of the glassiness of a quartz point. The blue is a light-scattering effect through the fine structure rather than a strong pigment, which is why good natural blue chalcedony is pale and even, and why a saturated electric blue almost always means dye. Mohs 6.5–7.

Not in the classical lists. It is sold in India mostly on colour and appearance, and we sell it that way too.

Is blue chalcedony usually dyed?
A great deal of it in the market is. Ours is natural pale blue, and where any stone we sell has been dyed or heat-treated we state it on the listing and on the invoice.
Is it the same as blue lace agate?
They are close relatives: both chalcedony. Blue lace agate is banded; plain blue chalcedony is not.
